Our mother (omama) grandmother (vovo) and great-grandmother, quietly slipped into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on January 11, 2014. She was born September 30, 1924 in Joineville, Santa Catarina, Brazil to Rudolph Augsuta Neitsch and Ann Bertah Hilda Doehler. Although she was Lutheran, she was educated in Catholic schools. Sister Garbriela was her favorite teacher and friend. They exchanged letters for many years. When mother was 16, she and her mother were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At age 19 she left her native home and beloved family to come to the USA. In April of 1944 she married Rulon B. Haacke in Woods Cross, Utah. In September that same year, they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three children Linda Gene, Maureen, and Rulon Douglas in Bountiful, Utah.
In 1953 mother started tending children and shortly thereafter she became the first licensed Day Care Center in Davis County. In 1963 mother and dad were called on a family LDS mission to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. When they returned, mother continued with her Home Day Care Center. After retirement in 1993 she became a demo lady in the local grocery stores. Her favorite store to demo and shop was Smith Market on 2600 South and Main in North Salt Lake. She made many friends there including, Don, Blake, Brandon, Lee and many others. Thank you for your friendship.
Mother was/is a very kind, caring, loving and gentle lady. She was fair and always willing to give service to others. She especially was always willing to service those who needed a little extra help. Mother loved flowers. She and dad were very proud of their garden. Several times they took first place in the Bountiful Garden Show. Mother also loved to play her piano. Her favorite song was Autumn Leaves. However, near the end she could only play two German songs from her childhood and Silent Night. She was very close to her sister, Cecilia with whom she spoke often on the phone. It was amusing to listen to them speak in German, Portugese and sometimes English.
Mother is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother-in-law Lou Testori. She is survived by her sister, Cecilia Testori, Midwest, OK.; daughters: Linda (Clark) Murdock, Centerville, UT., Maureen (Wes) Buchanan, West Valley, UT.; and son, Rulon Douglas, Vernal, UT. She has 10 grandchildren: Tracy (Daryl) Anderson, Carlsbad, CA., Chris (Michelle) Oconto, Wisconsin, Ryan (Tiffney), Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, Julia, David, LoriJo Murdock, Salt Lake City, UT., Alyx, Jordon Murdock, Centerville, UT., Teresa (Craig) Taylor, Bountiful, UT., Chad (Jessica), Salt Lake City, UT., and Tiffany Murdock, Kaysville, UT. Mother also has 16 great-grandchildren: Maren, Finley, Gunnar, Harlan, Grant, Audrey, Taylor, Joe, John, Kendra, Cole, Rulin, Kylie, Abby Taylor and Cody.
We wish to thank South Davis Home Health Care and Hospice for their services and kindness they gave to mother. Thank you Laurel, Vicky, Carrie, Diane, Robbie and Alena for your time, gentleness and love.

When God sends forth a tiny soul,
To learn the ways of earth.
A parents love is waiting here –
We call this wonder birth.
When God calls back this tired & weary soul,
And stills a fleeting breath.
A Fathers love is waiting there –
This too is birth – not death.
Unknown.
