Howard F. Larkins 1918 ~ 2010 Our dear father, grandfather, brother and friend, Howard F. Larkins, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2010. He was born August 2, 1918 to Frederick Seal Larkins and Julia LaVida Jensen. He grew up in Kaysville where he attended Kaysville Elementary. After the death of his father and at the age of 15, he was sent to Winnemucca, Nevada to work on his Uncles ranch. Dad loved his horses and life on the ranch. At the age of nineteen he returned to Kaysville where he began a 45 year career working for Clover Club Foods including many years working as a District Sales Manager in Phoenix, AZ. While working for Clover Club Foods, he was elected President of American Grocers Association and Los Hospederos. He served in the Army during World War II where he was among the first troops to enter Japan. He met his beloved wife, Beth Rose, on a double date to Lagoon. They were married on the 19th of November, 1941 and were blessed with four children, Elizabeth Ann (Darell) Steele, Shirley (Stephen) Romney, Stephen (Sandy) Larkins and Deborah Kay (Brad) Means. He was a High Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he fulfilled many callings such as counselor in the bishopric, ward clerk and Sunday School Superintendant. He and Beth also served many years in the Ogden Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife Beth who died January 26, 2007, his son Stephen, who died June 3, 2010, son-in-law Stephen Romney and daughter-in-law Sandra Larkins, parents and sibling. We are grateful to Harmony Health especially Nancy and Shasta and the wonderful staff at Chancellor Gardens who so lovingly took care of him. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 N. Main Street with a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Snow Creek Ward, 845 N. 1150 E., Layton, UT. Interment- Farmington City Cemetery.
