Howard Lee Bell

Howard Lee Bell Passed away at his home in Kaysville after a lengthy illness. He was born in Evanston, Wyoming to Joseph Bell and Bessie Louise Isle on May 26, 1934. He attended schools in Evanston and Mountain View Wyoming; and Salt Lake Community College. He began his working life at a very early age.

While looking for work on her family’s ranch he met his future wife, Sharon Coonradt. They were married on November 26, 1955. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland California LDS Temple.

Howard joined the Navy soon after his 18th birthday. He continued to serve for 20 years, retiring in 1972. The family moved to southern Oregon where he formed a construction company. They later moved to Kaysville where he commuted to work in the mine in Kemmerer, Wyoming working as a mine electrician.

He is survived by his wife, a sister, Lillian Angwin; two brothers, Wayne and Gene Bell; a son Robert (Dee) Bell; three daughters, Joy (Jim) Burks, Polly (Stacey) Bell; and Kelly (Mike) Blaschka; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-children and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by both parents; a sister, Virginia O’Hara; a brother, Francis Bell; and an infant son.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the family of Howard’s hero, the young man whose heart was lovingly gifted on Aug. 19, 1989; and to the transplant professionals who heroically supported him for 28 years. He used those years in support of his grandchildren and many other young people passing on his love and knowledge of horsemanship.

He suffered some serious health setbacks in the past 8 years for which he received wonderful care from many health care providers. We are very grateful for that care.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Legion Hall in Fort Bridger, Wyoming. Casual dress. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the American Legion Youth Programs.
