Ila Mae Lambert Morrison
1922 – 2012
BOUNTIFUL – Ila Mae L. Morrison, 89, of Bountiful, Utah passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, with loved ones by her side.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Delbert Eldredge and Mae Whitaker Lambert, on May 4, 1922. Graduated from South High School in 1939.
She married Kenneth Bingham Morrison July 23, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in the MIA on ward and stake level, enjoyed working and being with the young women as Stake Camp Director; served in the Primary on ward and stake level; served in Sunday School, and was a visiting teacher for many years. She became a Golden Gleaner and her husband a Master MM at the same time during the war.
She worked for ZCMI, J C Penney, O C Tanner and as a foods demonstrator. She loved to dance, sew, and was an excellent cook. She was a very devoted Mother and Grandma. Enjoyed bowling and traveling with her husband. Belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Spent many years in American Business Women’s Association and served in all capacities.
She is survived by three children, Sandra (Stephen) Miskin, Sandy, Utah; Susan Morrison, West Bountiful, Utah; and Lynn Morrison of Woods Cross, Utah; six grandchildren: Ken, Matt, Portia, Justin, Kimberly, and Keaton; eight-great-grandchildren: Colton, Myah, Dylan, Quincy, Conner, Jaden, Oliver, Katie, and one on the way. Also survived by one brother, Raymond (Mary) Lambert. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ron; brothers, Delbert and Melvin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Val Verda Ninth Ward, 3317 South 800 West, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main in Bountiful and Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
