Iona May Snyder Hall

May 6, 1931 — November 11, 2021

Iona May Snyder Hall, born May 6, 1931, in Moab, Grand County, Utah, to Della Lambert, and Reuben C. Snyder, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 11, 2021, in an assisted living center in Clearfield, Utah, at the age of 90. Family members were able to visit with Iona in the days and hours leading up to her passing.

Iona was the youngest of three children in a close and loving family. She grew up on a family farm in Myton Utah and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Iona married Edwin Chellus Hall in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1953. They raised their family in Roy Utah and built a new home in Kaysville after retirement. Iona received a bachelor’s degree in Secretary Practice from Brigham Young University in 1953 and used her skills at St. Benedict Hospital as a certified tumor registrar. More important to her than her employment, was her family, friends and church. She was an excellent mother, wife, and friend. She helped raise five wonderful children who have all led happy and productive lives.

She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Relief Society president in the Roy 14th Ward. She also accompanied her husband as welfare-service missionaries in the Chicago, Illinois area and as local service missionaries in the employment program in Davis County. They enjoyed long service as Bountiful temple workers.

Preceding her in death is husband: Edwin Chellus Hall, sibling: June Fredrickson. Also preceding her in death are brothers in law: Grant Fredrickson, and Bruce Hall, and various nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Laurel Hall and five children: Brady S. (Becky) Hall, Brian K. (Kaloni) Hall, Linda Hall (Val) Hill, Roger E. (Ilene) Hall, and Lorna Hall (Bryan) Johnson. She has 23 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren; all of whom are dearly loved. Harry Dean Winegar, a nephew was welcomed into the family when 11 years old. He was like a son and brother to her family.

Iona’s last two years were spent at Chancellor Gardens assisted living, where she received excellent care from Sallie Huntington, her staff, and the Applegate hospice nurses. They truly loved and helped her!

Visitation will commence Friday, November 19, 2021, 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St. Farmington, Utah. On Saturday, November 20, 2021, visitation will commence at the Kaysville South Stake Center, 900 South Main, Kaysville, at 9:30 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery, Crestwood Road.

Appreciation is expressed to all who have given service, love, and have helped Iona in any way.
