Irene Jensen

April 5, 1919 — January 10, 2011

Irene Takis Jensen passed away Monday morning January 10, 2011 from natural causes. Irene was truly a beautiful person. She lived in a magical house in Bountiful, Utah, which was big enough, always had food on the table, and anyone who came to visit was always welcome. Irene enjoyed many activities in her 91 years, and she had many friends, but the most important thing in her life was her family. If you went to her house on any weekend, you would always find some of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren hanging out. Inevitably someone would grab the basketball and game of horse would soon begin. She enjoyed spending time with others, whether at Tops with some of her closest friends, painting ceramics with the gals at the senior citizens center in Bountiful, or going to lunch with the Red Hat Society. You couldnt help but fall in love with Irene. Irene means peace. Irene was born April 5th, 1919 in Reliance Wyoming to Mike Takis and Annie Jensen Takis. She moved to Salt Lake as a teenager, began her family and later moved to Bountiful. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Ralph E. Jensen, brother William (Bill) Takis, sister Ruth Stanger, children Gary Young and LaVon Young, daughter-in-law Louise Young, and grandchildren Corbin Young, Nathan Bouck, and Leila S. Young. She is survived by her children Rosella (Jim) Bouck, Lee (Kathy) Young, Shirley Lucero, and Jay (Diane) Jensen. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Diane Stoss and Dan Stanger, 24 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Good night, Irene, good night Irene, well see you in our dreams.
