Irene Marie Cox Steglich Finlinson passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018, comforted by her loving family. She was born on Jan. 28, 1935 in Murray, UT to John Henry and Pauline Cox. She graduated from Murray High, and on June 22, 1956 married the love of her life, Ray Fred Steglich. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 6, 1961, and raised a beautiful family in Bountiful, UT.
Irene worked as an LPN for Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, and later graduated from cosmetology school and ran her own salon, Irene Styles. She loved to sing, square dance, travel, make floral arrangements, and take long walks. She also loved Christmas and as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, enjoyed serving Church callings including working at the Salt Lake and Ogden temples.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Ronda) Steglich, June (Steve) Wangerin, Julie (Scott) Lunt, brothers Billy and Doug Cox, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She has joyously reunited with her loved ones on the other side, especially her parents, husband Ray Steglich, adored grandchildren Brad Frantz and Heather Steglich and great-grandchild Teresa Frantz, siblings Don, Vera, Kenneth, Jack and Margaret and second husband David Finlinson.
The family wishes to thank Comfort Worx Hospice and Barrington Place, for the compassionate care they provided Irene in her last days.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah with visitations Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6-8 pm, and Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 prior to the service.
