Irene Steinicke

Our beloved Mother and Grandmother Irene Holmes Steinicke returned home to her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving family on 8 June 2015.

Born 5 December 1944 to W. Eugene Holmes and Laura Walker Holmes. Irene graduated from Weber High School. She married Darrell B. Steinicke 2 June 1964 in Las Vegas, NV which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Irene loved the gospel and shared her testimony through service to others.

Irene had a great passion for sewing, quilting and cooking. Many have been blessed by her generous love and care. She loved decorating, making costumes, celebrating holidays, and hosting family parties. She enjoyed camping, gardening, caring for others and spending time with her sweetheart and family. All who knew her felt welcome in her home. Many referred to her as their second mother or Nana.

She is preceded in death by her husband Darrell and her parents. She is survived by her children Todd (Holly), Brett (Marcie), Angie (Jim), Jana, D. Greg (Laura), Lara, her foster daughter Euphemia, and 22 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday 15 June 2015 at 11:00 am at the Bountiful 39th Ward Chapel, 1500 South 600 East, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday evening 14 June 2015, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Funeral Home, 295 N. Main St. in Bountiful and prior to the funeral from 9:45 – 10:45 am at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful, UT.
