IVon Ray Wall

Powerhouse.  The man. The myth. The legend. The great IVon Ray Wall passed away peacefully in his sleep at 95 years of age, November 14, 2022.  IVon was born June 19, 1927, in Logan, Utah, to John Edward Wall and Ada Ray.  As a young man he loved working at “The Bluebird” in Logan, Utah, and eating ice cream and chocolates.  
He served in the Army in World War II.  If you thanked him for his service, he would reply, “Thanks, but no thanks needed.  We were like Mormon missionaries; when we’re called, we go because it is our duty!”  Following his military service, he served a three-year proselyting mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico Mission.  He married Janice Maloney Bevan in the Salt Lake Temple on August 22, 1952.
IVon, not “Ivan”, reveled in midnight runs to Dee’s, iHop, Denny’s and Village Inn with his grandchildren, trips to Lake Powell and Snowbird, Lobsterfest with his son’s family in Washington, and Mexi-fests.  He was a recovering Aggie turned BYU blue.
IVon is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice Maloney Bevan, and his daughter Stephanie Hess.  He is survived by his children Robert Wall (Terri), Lorie Wall, Scott Wall (Janice), Jennifer Cottle (Michael), son-in-law David Hess, twin-sister Iva Wilcoxson, sister Ada Mae Griffin, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A viewing will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. followed by an open mic “Celebration of Life” from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., both to be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3599 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, beginning 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3599 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful, Utah, where a short viewing will be held one hour prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.   Interment- Bountiful City Cemetery.
Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page.  The live stream will begin approximately 10 to 15 minutes prior to the service.
