His family later moved to Utah where he went to Granite High School and graduated with the class of 1951. He then went on to college where he attended the University of Utah (Go Utes). He loved the University, and attended there until he was drafted into the Army in 1953, where he served in the Korean War for 2 years. He was mainly stationed in Germany.

His name was Shawn Arnold. It was a great experience for them, and they received many blessing because of that opportunity to serve in that way.
After graduating from the U, he took a job with Sperry, but because of the lack of government contracts, he was laid off, and then found himself employed by the Federal Government on Hill Air Force Base as an engineer. He said his job was “kicking tires”. He worked there until 1965, where he retired at the early age of 60.
His wife Maxine passed away on Jan. 24th, 2003, and had poor health for several years. Jack loved her, and took extra care of her during her illness.
