After a lifetime of faithful service to God, family and country, Jack Binkerd left this life on his own terms on 7 December 2010. Born May 20, 1920 to Robert Cady Binkerd and Laura Hansen Binkerd. Jack was a lifelong member of the LDS church. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, Branch President, High Councilman and Gospel Doctrine Teacher among other callings. He was head usher at the Assembly Hall during conference for 20 years and served in the temple. He also graduated from institute at the University of Utah. He volunteered for the draft on December 5, 1941 and retired from the Air Force in 1963. His service took him around the country and around the world. Preceded in death by his wife, Leila, parents and siblings. Survived by his children, Jaxine (Kaysville), Blaine (Emmy) (Spanish Fork) and Tery (Bountiful); and grand and great-grandchildren. Thanks to the staff of Avalon Care Center, Lakeview Hospital and Vista Hospice for such tender care in the final months. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Bountiful 33rd Ward Chapel, 51 South Main. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Saturday 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
