Jack Gordon Halladay died at age 77 of natural causes at his home in Farmington, Utah on 12 September 2012. Jack was born 31 March 1935, at Escalante, Garfield, Utah to LeRoy & Nettie Gazelle Riding Halladay. In his younger years he attended elementary school in Tropic, Utah, High School in Marysvale, Utah and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He married Crystal Simkins from Circleville, Utah on 3 September 1957 in the Manti Temple. They had been married 55 years at his passing. He is survived by his wife, Crystal, Daughter Jackie Halladay& husband Jon Collins; sons, Brett Halladay & wife Amy, & Michael Halladay. He has 7 grandchildren There are 3 greatgrandaughters. He is survived by one brother, Albert Halladay & wife Sydnee.
Jack served 4 years in the US Navy, 27 years in US Army intelligence in Virginia, Washington D.C, Vietnam (MACSOG), Arizona, Germany (two tours), Taiwan, Texas, & Missouri, retiring as a Sgt Major in 1983. Since then after moving back to Utah he worked 16 years with LDS Church Security retiring completely in 1999. He served as a Bishop in the LDS Church while in Germany.
There will be a viewing Monday, September 17th at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington from 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by Graveside services at 12:00 p.m. at the Farmington Cemetery, 600 South 200 East, Farmington, Utah.
Jack was an avid reader; he never was without a book. He loved music. There wasn’t a more honest man anywhere & he was a devoted family man.
