James Albert McIntosh

On May 9, 2017 James Albert McIntosh completed his mission on earth.
    James Albert McIntosh was born on November 2, 1933 in Long Beach, California to Grace Isabelle Greenwell and James Hiram McIntosh.  After overcoming several obstacles as a child, he entered the United States Military Academy at West Point at age 17.  He graduated in 1955 and decided to continue to serve the army in the prestigious 82nd Airborne where he became 1st Lieutenant and Jump Master.  During this time he married Earlene Bagley, daughter of Earl and Alice Bagley, in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 22, 1956. After deciding it would be easiest on his family to stay in one place, he was honorably discharged and began his journey for his law degree at George Washington University College of Law.  He moved to Utah where he received his law degree at the University Of Utah College Of Law. He practiced law for the remainder of his life. 
      Jim spent his life in Utah and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a true testimony of personal prayer and reading his scriptures faithfully. In his later years he spent numerous hours on Family History Research and sent many names to the temple to have their work done.  Jim was also known  for  his honesty. Many attorneys talked about how he was always honest, especially in the courtroom. Among his many accomplishments, the first and foremost and dearest to him was his family. He and his sweet wife bore 7 children (Robert died in infancy). This legacy has grown to 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. All have stayed faithful in the Church. He will be dearly missed.
     Survived by his children Richard (Teresa) McIntosh, Debbie (Dick) Bradshaw, Bruce (Holly) McIntosh, Linda (David) Soderberg, Sheri (Randall) Petersen, and Diane (Greg, deceased) Porter. All grandchildren and great grandchildren survive him.
    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the Foothill 7th Ward at 2215 E Roosevelt.  Friends may call Friday evening at Russon Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and prior to the services at 11:30 – 12:30 at the 7th Ward.  Burial will follow at Sunset Lawn Cemetery 2350 East 1300 South.
