James David Johnson

July 1, 1929 — October 15, 2017

James David Johnson, beloved Husband and Father, was called back to his Heavenly home on Sunday, October 15, 2017. He passed away peacefully at home.

Dave was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 1, 1929 to loving parents, Simon Robert and Juanita West Johnson. He moved to Centerville, Utah at the age of 13.

He attended Davis High School and graduated in 1946 at the age of 16.

At 21, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. He met his sweetheart, Ione Anderson and married her in the Salt Lake Temple on April 22, 1955. They had 5 children, losing the first one after 6 weeks.

Dave held a Master Electrical license and was an Electrical Maintenance Coordinator for the Davis School District until he retired.

Dave has served faithfully in many LDS church callings throughout the years. He loved serving as Cub Master for seven years.

Dave is survived by his wife, Ione: his children, Linda (Clyde) Tolman, Kathy Tugaw, Rick (Jeri) Johnson, and Dan (Amy) Johnson, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dave is also survived by his sister, Helen Sanders.  Dave was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Margaret, a brother, Bob, and his infant daughter, Laurie.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Centerville Utah Stake Center, 950 North Main, Centerville, Utah.  Viewings will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and on Saturday from 9:30-10:45 am at the church prior to the service. Interment at Centerville City Cemetery.
