James Warren England, 93, died in Bountiful, Utah, June 26, 2010, during an eclipse of the moon. From his youth, he loved fly-fishing, good writing, great music, and most of all his cherished Afton. Together through 71 years and four children, they were married in 1939 in Hyrum, Utah sealed in 1957 in Logan Temple. Born Feb. 20, 1917, in Logan, Utah, Jim started as a boy in the newspaper business setting type for the old Cache-American. He went on to work for the Ogden Standard-Examiner and to edit the Boise Statesman. As managing editor of the Salt Lake Tribune, he received the 1956 Pulitzer Prize for news reporting about an airliner collision over the Grand Canyon. He met Presidents and movie stars and fished with Ernest Hemingway. A familiar sight around town, he enjoyed cruising in his ?74 VW Thing with red-and-white fringe on top. Few men have lived such a ?snazzy? life, as he would say.
