Jim Parsell, age 84, of Farmington, Utah passed away on July 7, 2015. Mom and Dad are together again. Jim was born in Silver City, Utah on September 22, 1930 to Clinton (Clint) Parcel and Jannett (Nana) Underwood Moon. Dad served honorably in the U. S. Navy. He married Betty Jean Steed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 9, 1949. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1994. Dad married Renee (Lund) VanFleet on April 7, 2002 and they enjoyed thirteen wonderful years together.
Dad was a generous and kind man. He would do anything to help his friends and family. He was a hard worker who never sat idle. He worked for Chevron Refinery, Hartford Insurance, The State of Utah and Arise Insurance while owning Davis Sanitation Inc. Dad was proud of his service on the Farmington City Council and his ability to give back to the community he loved. Dad served as chairman of National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
Dad loved hosting family and friends at his property in Lava Hot Springs, 4-wheeling, playing cards with loved ones, a good Western movie and trips to Wendover.
We will greatly miss him. He is survived by his four children: Debbie (Skip) Carlsen, Farmington UT; Dennis (Lisa) Parsell, Kona HI; Scott (Gladys) Parsell, Layton UT and Roger (Sue) Parsell, Kaysville UT along with his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife Renee Parsell, Farmington UT and her children: Julie (Kevin) Dyreng, Debbie Pettersson, Sandi (Matt) Berrett. He was preceded in death by two sisters Cleone (Onie) and Joyce and by his grandson David Parsell.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the LDS Stake Center, 347 South 200 West, Farmington, UT. A viewing will be held July 12, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary 1941 N Main, Farmington, Utah and at the church an hour prior to services on Monday, July 13, 2015.
Interment will be in the Farmington City Cemetery with full naval military honors.
