Jim gained his heavenly wings on January 5th, 2016 while surrounded by family. James Hollinger was born in Elizabethtown, PA to David Hollinger and Katie Greiner on October 2nd, 1947. Jim served in the U.S. Airforce and then worked for Federal Express as an Aircraft Mechanic for 35 years, being one of FedEx’s first employees. Jim’s favorite pastimes were brewing, flying his airplane, sitting in his garage with his friends and family and playing with his grandchildren. There were two achievements in Jim’s life that he was most proud of: Getting his Pilot’s license and marrying his amazing wife Ranée in 1995. One of Jim’s favorite joys was spending time with his grandchildren. With 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous adopted grandchildren, “Papa Jim” always had someone there to enjoy his homebrewed root beer and do Sudoku puzzles with.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ranée; his 3 children Jeffrey, Jennifer (John)
Ward, & Jarod (Kristy) Johnson; 5 siblings; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and numerous friends and family that will miss having his company. He was preceded in death by his parents & sister, Elizabeth. Heaven gained a great brew master! Jim lived his way! Leukemia Sucks!
A memorial service will be held for Jim on Saturday, January 16th at 11:00 am, Mountain Road Presbyterian Church, 796 S Mountain Road, Fruit Heights, UT.
