James Montandon

December 18, 1936 — December 7, 2010

SYRACUSE- James Taylor Montandon Jim, age 73, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at his home in Syracuse, Utah and will be missed terribly by his family and friends. Jim was born to Charles Clay and Myrtle Montandon on December 18, 1936 in Sulfur Springs, Ok. Throughout his life he accomplished many great things such as owning and operating Moon River Corn Company for 29 years, several convenience stores and many truck stops, including The Boise Stage Stop where he received an award for Americas Best Truck Stop, and Brighton Appliance for 15 years, after which he retired. He also was an active mason for over 50 years, a member of the VMCCA and last but not least, a favorite at Christmas time by playing the part of Santa Claus accompanied by his wife Mrs. Claus. His #1 greatest accomplishment however was meeting and marrying his soulmate Jerri Bonner in Waurika, Ok. In Jim and Jerris 55 yrs together they were blessed with 5 children, 15 grandchildren, and a great-grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife, Jerri Montandon of Syracuse, Ut; a sister, Pat Montandon of Beverly Hills, CA.; his children, Karen (Paul Thompson) of Fernley, NV, Renee (John Paul Wadel) of Spain, Steve (Susan Montandon) of Murray, Ut; and Michelle of Freemont, Ca. Regardless of long distance relationships he had with them, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were also very important to him – they are Norah (3 children), Jason (2 children), Adam, Akira, Jessica, Ashley & Jordan, Ashley (3 children) Taylor, Alex (1 child) & Abbie, Michael Christopher, Steadman & Kelsey. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main, with a viewing prior from 11:30-12:45 p.m. Jim will be laid to rest in the Farmington City Cemetery after the services.
