James Robert Lowham 37 beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Jim passed away peacefully, with his wife holding his hand and his brother, Brian, by her side on Thursday January 7, 2021 due to complications from Covid 19. The family would like to thank Dr. David Guidry and the many nurses at Intermountain Medical Center Respiratory ICU for the great care given to Jim during the last week of his life.
Jim was born on August 11, 1983 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Keith Edward Lowham and Marlys Joan Richards. He was raised in the small town of Lyman, Wyoming. He attend Lyman High School and graduated in 2002. He was a faithful member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jim served honorably in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Mission 2004-2006; where he became a diehard New Orleans Saints fan. He served in many church callings, his favorite being a Temple Worker in the Jordan River Temple.
He met his sweetheart, Mindy Alice Martin, in a Singles Ward in West Valley City. He asked her out via Facebook on Valentine’s Day 2012. After a whirlwind romance, he proposed March 30, 2012. Jim and Mindy were sealed for time and all eternity on October 11, 2012 in the Bountiful Utah Temple. She was the light of his life and will always be his honey bee.
Jim loved people. He was always there for a smile, a hug, or a fist bump. From the time he could talk, he would talk to anyone who would listen. He always had a special place in his heart for cats and rescued many strays over the years. Jim loved anything Star Trek, Star Wars, and the Marvel Universe. He always had advanced tickets to the premier of those movies. He enjoyed attending FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention. He worked in customer care at Overstock for over 10 years. He formed many close friendships with his co-workers, who will miss his laugh and smile.
He is survived by his wife Mindy of 8 years, mother Marlys Dade City, FL; siblings, Brian (Debra) LaTour West Valley City, UT, Brad (Rebeka) LaTour Traverse City, MI, Amy (Roger) Hutchinson Taylorsville, UT, and Wendy LaTour Evanston, WY; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Proceeded in death by his father Keith and both sets of grandparents.
A viewing will be held Tuesday evening January 12, from 6-8pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main, Bountiful, UT. Masks will be required, please follow CDC guidelines.
Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 13, at 12:00pm at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery 1640 Lakeview Dr. Bountiful, UT. The service will be livestreamed on Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/russonmortuary/videos/2491451907818136
