Jane Charlotte Lane passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021 with her loving family by her side, one day after her 83rd birthday. Jane was born in Esher, Surrey, England to John Stanley Wilson and Charlotte Minnie Woolley on June 27, 1938. She was the second of four children, raised solely by her hard working and angelic mother. Her early years were spent in the south of England during World War II. A few years before the war ended her family moved to Sunderland County, Durham where she had the great blessing of becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 11years old. Jane graduated from highschool and completed college in England. She was always very active and won awards in swimming and high jump. When she was 18, she met the love of her life Harry Lane; they were married in January, 1959. One year later they were sealed in the London, England temple. Harry and Jane immigrated to the United States in 1963 and eventually built a home in North Salt Lake where they lived for many years and raised their family. Jane was very devoted to serving others. She volunteered on the Foster Review Board in Davis County to help abused and neglected children, and was involved in the PTA for 22 years. She and Harry served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their first mission included greeting and helping foreign missionaries from many different countries who were coming to Utah. Their second mission involved working on the British floor of the Family History Library, teaching and helping others navigate their family history. Jane also spent countless hours working on her own family history.
Jane’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Harry Lane; 5 children: Paul (Staci) Lane, Sharon (Clark) Bean, David (DeLayne)Lane, Tanya (John) Harris, Rich (Cami) Lane; 23 grandchildren: Megan, Emily, Nate, Alex, Clara, Audrey, Chelsea, Mikella, Matthew, Alissa, Joshua, Zach, Tyson, Canyon, Brielle, Tysha, Alexandra, Jackson, Samantha, Sailor, Kaia, Lucas and Scarlett; and 10 great-grandchildren.
