Jane Annette Van Loon Sanders passed away on May 8, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on September 6, 1938 to John and Clara Van Loon. Jane grew up in Oakland, California and Ogden, Utah. In her teenage years, Jane participated in Jobs Daughters, a youth group with the Masonic Order and Eastern Star as an adult. Jane married the love of her life Marvin Chester Sanders on January 17, 1956. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles, California Temple on September 21, 1963. They resided in Oakland, California for two years before buying their first home in Pleasant Hill, California. Other residences were in Concord, San Jose and Tracy before her final residence in Centerville, Utah. While in Tracy, Jane dedicated her time to raising her twelve children and always putting them first. Jane loved to sew and do anything craft related. She could make anything she put her mind to. She also loved to bake and made wedding cakes for family and friends. One of Jane’s passions was family history. She loved doing genealogy work. Jane has held many church callings; most recently she served with her husband as Church Service Missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
She is survived by her husband Marvin Sanders and children Debra MacFarlane (Rodger), Bruce Sanders, Brenda Bowler (Terry), Douglas Sanders (Meloney), Kevin Sanders (Yazmin), Janel Gaines (Brian), Janette Sanders, Brian Sanders, Marla Sanders, Mark Sanders (Beth) and Martin Sanders. Jane has 34 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her mother, Clara Hoffman Van Loon and her siblings, John Thomas Van Loon (Helen), Doris Brooks (Don), Raymond Van Loon (Candance) and Loretta Ritchie (Michael). She is preceded in death by her father John Taylor Van Loon, son Bruce Marvin and daughter Shari Annette.
There will be a viewing on May 11, 2014 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N. Main, Bountiful Utah. A second viewing will be held the following day, May 12, 2014 from 11:30am – 12:45pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 210 E. 1825 N, Centerville, Utah with the funeral services following at 1:00 pm.
