Janet Hilton Hult

Janet Hilton Hult, 94, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2015, after having lived a full and happy life.
Mom was born December 6, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Lalovi Hilton and Sarah Jane “Jenny” Goodale. She loved growing up in Ogden, was a member of the first graduating class of Ogden High and went on to graduate from Weber State College. She married the love of her life, Arvid Cornie Hult, Jr. on November 19, 1942. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. We are delighted that they are together again and take great joy in pondering that long-awaited reunion.
With Dad working for the Air Force, Mom had the opportunity to have adventures in many places, including Morocco, Germany and Bermuda. Mom had exceptional secretarial skills which she utilized in the business world. But she loved, most of all, being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
As a faithful member of the LDS Church, Mom served in many callings, but is best known for being the Sacrament Meeting Chorister in many countries spanning 30 years. She loved to sing and had a fabulous voice. Mom also loved working crossword puzzles, reading and playing Bridge with her friends. How she enjoyed her family and their get-togethers. She loved nothing better than to go fishing in July, play Shanghai, or eat chili on Christmas. Thank you, Mom, for the legacy showing the importance of immediate and extended family.
Simply put, Mom was a kind, caring, smart, happy, full-of-wisdom woman who taught us through her example. We once asked her why she was always so happy; she replied “I was born happy and I’ve been happy ever since – – it’s a choice you make.” We hope to make that same choice, as well as follow her final words of advice to us: “Be nice . . . to everyone!”
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Jody, her brother Bob, her sister Judy and her son-in-law Scott.
She is survived by her brothers: Joe, Clifford, and Laurence Hilton; her sisters: Joanne Brenner and Marnie Zambrano; her children: Raymond Hult (Geniel), Sandee McMaster, Penny Blaisdell (Jerry), and Lisa Glade (Bryant); her ten grandchildren: Mike, Stefani, Kristen, Cindy “Cinderella”, Kim, Lindsey, Andrew, Kate, Keli “my birthday twin”, and Sydnee Janet; and her 24 great-grandchildren (with one on the way).
Our family would like to thank Andrea, Susan, Reggie, Carolyn and Leslie from Tender Care Hospice for the loving care they provided these last few months.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Canyon View Ward, 210 East 1825 North, Centerville, where a viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
