Our beloved, beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, and wife finished her mortal journey on Monday, August 21, 2023. She passed at home with her five children, youngest sister, many in-laws, grandchildren, and her loving, eternal companion.
Janet Kay Cleverly was welcomed to earth on Wednesday, October 6, 1943, by two older sisters, the third of eight children of Marvin Nelson Cleverly & Agnes Loraine Bates Cleverly in Salt Lake City Utah.
Janet graduated from Bountiful High School in 1961. She worked at IML Trucking company where she met her lifelong friend, Nancy, who became Glen’s sister-in-law. Janet met the love of her life, Glen Lambert, on a blind date set up by Nancy. It was truly love at first sight. Together they started their eternal adventures on August 20, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple. Janet supported Glen as he finished school and started his career. Together they traveled all over the world. They welcomed five children to their family, giving each so much love and care.
Janet is a faithful Latter-day Saint and treasured the gospel and her membership in the Church. Janet served the Lord in many Church callings, sharing her talents and gifts. Of all the callings she had, her callings in primary and as the primary music leader were her favorite. Janet not only served in official callings and as a visiting teacher, but in many other ways. While living in Japan and Connecticut, Janet hosted many Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holiday parties for those who were away from home. Janet supported Glen by hosting many business associates and their families in their home. Janet was the best cook and hostess and had a special talent to make all who were in her home comfortable.
Janet served quietly with no thought of reward.
Janet has a great relationship with her four sisters and three brothers, whenever they are together, it is sure to be a party.
Janet was very talented and enjoyed many hobbies. She learned to paint using oils and watercolors. Flower arranging, music, crafts, ceramics, Japanese doll making, and more. Her grandchildren always looked forward to grandma’s visits and she was amazing at sending cards and gifts. Janet and Glen supported each one and were there for all their celebrations from soccer games, concerts, graduations, and weddings.
Grandma and grandpa’s love for each of their posterity is eternal.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Marva Olsen (sister), Val Baker (sister), William Sargent (brother-in-law), Lee Ann Sargent (sister), Myrna Lambert (sister-in-law), Robert Lambert (brother-in-law), Nancy Lambert (sister-in-law), and Howard (brother-in-law).
