Janice Ariotti

September 8, 1925 — August 16, 2019

Our dearest angel mother, Janice Larsen Ariotti, 93, passed through the veil peacefully early Friday, August 16, 2019, to rejoice with her husband, Kenneth, and many family members following a formidable bout with Parkinson's Disease.  Preceded in death by her parents, Fenton Almartin Larsen and Clara Einzinger Larsen, and 2 sisters, Melba (Wofford), and Betty (Johnson), Janice is survived by 2 brothers, Fenton Larsen and Richard Larsen. Janice has left her legacy of perfect love to two sons, Michael Roland Ariotti (Carole), and Robert Keith Ariotti, 11 grandchildren-Rachel (Wood), Laura (Brady), Sara (Burris), Andrew Ariotti, Kyle Ariotti, Nathan Ariotti, Daniel Ariotti, Joshua Ariotti, Spencer Ariotti, Adam Ariotti, Anthony Ariotti, and 22.5 great-grandchildren.

Janice was born September 8, 1925 in Preston, Idaho, the second of 5 children to Fenton & Clara Larsen.  It wasn't long before the family moved to the nearby farmland of Whitney ( a couple of hollows away) where they helped their parents on a small dairy farm.  Janice was active in the local 4H club and loved to sew.  She attended BYU and became a secretary at American Paper & Supply, where she met a 21 year old, recently baptized, good-looking Italian boy, Ken.

Janice will be remembered hosting countless feasts for family and friends, always in the kitchen—avoiding the fanfare and limelight. She was our cub scout den mother, our greatest baseball cheerleader, and favorite Animal Twister moderator.  She enjoyed every visit from her family and friends. Besides being a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janice belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and was active in the local Garden Club.  Janice's yard became an oasis to all as her green thumb made you feel you were near the Garden of Eden and her famous recipes will be handed down for generations.

We thank the caring hands of Capitol Hills Assisted Living and Brighton Home Health & Hospice for their unwavering help.

A viewing will be held Thursday morning, August 22, at the Bountiful 45th Ward located at 115 E Wicker Lane, Bountiful Utah from 10:00am – 11:30am.  A short graveside service will take place after the viewing at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery located at 1640 E Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah
