Janice Eskelsen Allen Christensen

Our sweet Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Janice Eskelsen Allen Christensen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 89. Janice was born on January 17, 1927 to Jennie Armeda Petersen and Orion Eskelsen in Brigham City, Utah. She is a graduate of Box Elder High School and attended Utah State University where she was an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She loved music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She sang in many high school, college and church choirs and choral groups throughout her life.

Janice married Reese Karren Allen on October 6, 1950 in the Logan Utah Temple. She was later married to Joseph Jay Christensen on April 9, 2001. Janice was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She particularly loved her time serving in the Primary.

Janice is survived by family and friends who love her dearly: Four children; Linda Parrish (Lynn), Steven R. Allen (Claudia), Patti Amacher (Mark), and David B. Allen (Brooke); 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and cherished friend Ken Drost. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sister: Mona Rae Chaney and two grandsons: Craig Steven Allen and Jonathan Alexander Amacher.

Funeral services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary (295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah) on Thursday, March 10 at 11:00am. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:30pm or prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am. Thursday morning. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Janice's name to the Perpetual Education, Humanitarian, or Missionary Funds of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (www.lds.org). The family wishes to thank the staff at Envision Hospice, Heritage Place and Russon Brothers Mortuary for the care and services they have provided.
