Janice Gayle Vom Dorp

January 1, 1940 — January 24, 2020

Janice Gayle Vom Dorp, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2020 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. Born January 1, 1940 in Bountiful, Utah to Etta and Ercell Hepworth.

Janice graduated from Bountiful High. She met and married J. Douglas Tanner. They had two children and later divorced. She moved the Phoenix AZ area where she married Robert Vom Dorp in the fall of 1987, after meeting at Tracy Collins Bank. They were later sealed in the Bountiful Temple. She was an accomplished seamstress who also obtained her aesthetician’s, real estate and brokers licenses. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in in many callings. She had a strong testimony and served faithfully.

Janice was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunts and friend. There was not a person who met her that did not adore her. She was a kind, loving, generous person. She always made an effort to look her best. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Robert Vom Dorp of Bountiful, daughter, Brenda Andreason of Clearfield, son, Gregory D. Tanner of Farmington, daughter, Annette (Brian) Shank of Salt Lake City, son, Barton Vom Dorp of Salt Lake City, daughter Andrea Hatch of Salt Lake City, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Winona Graves and Karen Wood along with many nieces and nephews and may friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ercell and Etta Hepworth, ex-husband, J. Douglas Tanner, sister, Connie Cooley, brothers Jex Hepworh and Rick Hepworth, son-in-law’s Brent Andreason and Robert Hatch. Son, Tim Vom Dorp and daughter Debra Schlenvogt.

At her request, there will be a simple graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful at 11:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2020.
