Jared Bangerter

October 10, 1984 — February 1, 2014

Biography

Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, favorite uncle and grandson, Jared Bangerter, age 29, was called home to his Heavenly Father on February 1, 2014. Through his life here on this earth Jared blessed us with his quick wit, contagious smile, testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and his ability to share the gospel.
Jared was born October 10, 1984 to Rick and Sheryl Bangerter of Centerville, Utah. Jared was the youngest of 5 children and loved his siblings and spending time with them.
The “greatest love story ever told” began with his courtship to Rachael Anne Burningham. Jared married his sweetheart Rachael November 20, 2010 in the San Diego Temple. Jared and Rachael welcomed their daughter Liberty Eden into their family July 31, 2013. He loved spending time with his daughter Libby. Her eyes lit up every time he entered the room.
When Jared was only 6-months old he underwent corrective heart surgery, resulting in a 2-chambered heart which functions were reversed. At that time, Jared was also diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Throughout his life his heart and lungs were weak, but you never would have known that to meet him. While still in the 8th grade he had a pacemaker installed to help him ‘keep pace’ during sports and other physical activities.
Jared served valiantly in the California San Diego mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He graduated from Viewmont High and earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Weber State University. Throughout Jared’s life he was a passionate BYU and Broncos fan, enthusiastic gamer, and avid reader. He was an Eagle Scout and was known for his love of freedom and his country. He had a gift for obtaining and sharing spiritual knowledge. This led him to fulfill his dream of being a seminary teacher where he loved and was loved by all his students and fellow teachers at Bountiful High School.
Jared is survived by his loving wife Rachael, daughter Liberty (Libby), parents Rick and Sheryl Bangerter, brother Ricky (Michelle), sisters Roxie (Lance), Dixie (McKay) Jenny (Rod), parents-in-law Paul and Chris Burningham, sibling-in-laws Marina (Mike), Kurt, Rona, Sarah (Randy), Matthew (Chelsey), Rebekah, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog Princess.
