Our Dad was raised in Bountiful and went to high school at Davis High and finished school in SLC at West High, when his parents bought a home in the Avenues.  When Dad was young, he loved hiking and spending time in the outdoors.  He worked for Utah Power & Light for nearly 30 years before he retired in 1990.  He served in the US Military (Army) from 1959 to 1965. He was called to active duty in 1960 for the Berlin crisis, and had to move his young family to Fort Leonardwood MO, for over a year.  Jerry and Sandra bought their family home in Farmington UT in 1964, where they raised their twelve children for 34 years. Jerry and Sandra enjoyed the rest of their days together in Bountiful.

Dad was loved by his children and friends. He had a love for gardening and maintained his property with perfection and pride.  He had a deep love for classical music and had it playing often. He enjoyed finding the deeper meaning in things and loved reading books, especially the scriptures.  He was very spiritual.

Dad loved family nostalgia and would talk for hours into the night with his friends and family. He always wanted to know all the details about his children's lives and spent a lot of time having fun with his grandchildren, especially the babies.  He spent many hours doing service work in the homes and yards of his children. Dad passed the qualities of honesty, integrity, and strong work ethics onto his children.

We thank our Dad for caring for our dear mother during the last years of her life.  We would like to thank the staff at Apple Village, especially his granddaughter Nicole Whear, for their care and support.  We would also like to thank Donette Hurst from Inspiration Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 29, 2017 at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT. Friends and Family may visit between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
