Our beloved husband, father, neighbor, and friend, Jay Darrell Schiffman, 79, passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Jay was born September 15, 1938 in Logan, Utah to Norma Yearsley and Darrell Rulon Schiffman. He graduated from Logan High School in 1956 before serving an LDS mission to the New England States (1958-1960). Jay received bachelor’s (1963) and master’s degrees (1972) in business administration from Utah State University and was employed in various business activities in Boston, Denver, and Salt Lake City. In what he calls the best day of his life, Jay was sealed for time and all eternity to his loving wife Trish on June 14, 1973 in the Logan Utah Temple.
Jay was an extremely hard worker with endless energy. He was very organized (with help from his favorite yellow legal pads). He loved ice cream, sports, and most of all his family. He taught faith, prayer, provident living, and trust in the Lord. He left a legacy of faith and service to others and to his church, including a second LDS mission to St. Louis, Missouri together with his sweetheart from 2012-2013. He is survived by his wife Trish, his son, Quinn (Lisa) Schiffman; daughters, LindaKay (Jonathan) Waters and Amber Schiffman; five grandchildren (Ammon, Aaron, Mary, Elijah, and Isaac); and his younger brothers Gary (Susan) and Farrell.
Thanks to all of the medical personal and Adagio Hospice for their tender care of Dad.
