Jay Roland Farmer, 89, bid us farewell on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. He was the eldest son of Fred C. Farmer and Purdett Charlottie Simonsen. Jay was born in the upstairs apartment of the railroad station in Preston, Idaho on July 21, 1921. After 65 years together, he temporarily departs from his eternal companion, Margaret Bingham. From that union came six children, a set of twin boys that died at birth and four living children, Kirk (Cindy) of Wellsville, Kip (Bonnie) of Millville, Keena (Jeff Ludwig) of Sandy, and Klixi Schaer of Grand Blanc, Michigan. His posterity also includes fifteen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He has three siblings, Fred J. (Gene) of St. Louis, Missouri, Kelly (Elaine) of Bountiful, and Colleen (DeVaughn Petersen) of Redlands, California. Viewings will be Friday, Jan. 21 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Russon Brothers in Bountiful (295 N. Main St.) and Saturday, Jan. 22 from 9:30 to 10:45 at the Centerville 7th Ward (270 N. 300 E.). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Centerville 7th Ward.
