Jay Bradley Searcy

August 15, 1964 — June 17, 2023

Jay Bradley Searcy was born on August 15, 1964, in Bountiful, Utah to Joy Marie Borg and Francis Leon Searcy. He died June 17, 2023, in Bountiful, from heart failure after battling heart and lung problems for years.
Jay was called a “grumpy old man” but deep down he loved everyone, would do anything he could to help someone, and did it with a smile on his face. If he wasn’t able to help, he always knew someone who could. He gave everything he had to those he loved and never held back, often giving more than he could spare.
His life was anything but uneventful! He endured more than he deserved, yet enjoyed life more than we expected. Everything he did was authentic. You knew who he was and where you stood with him.
Jay was good with his hands and passed his passion for cars onto his son. He worked in welding and fabrication most of his life and spent the last several years building fences with his good friend, Bruce Herbert. They were lifelong friends and Jay knew he could always count on Bruce in times of need.
He was known to the grandkids as “Papa Bear” and he adored his grandsons whose presence always made him beam. They were the light of his life and one of the main reasons he tried to prolong his life. No boys had a more loving grandfather; they meant so much to him. He was so excited to meet his granddaughter this coming August.
He had a love for cars, specifically Mopar muscle cars, and a deeper love for dogs. Though we are sad to see him go, we are also privileged to have shared our lives with this gem of a man! He taught us so many things that we will pass on to the generations to come
Survivors include his son, Trevor Jay Searcy (Kimberly Hill), stepchildren, Kendra Truscott, Daniel Johnson, and Annica Roth, sister, Marie Alaine Searcy, grandchildren, Kaiden Duke, Ryker (Jay-Leon) William, London Marie, Emma Jay, Tayden Duffin, and Lindsey Eitner, and his aunt, Jessica Myerson.
A celebration of life will be held privately by the family at a later date.
