Jay Wayne Thompson

There is a party happening on the other side. Jay Wayne Thompson has joined many family and friends there, passing after a 5 years, hard fought battle against cancer. 

Jay was born July 7, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wayne S and Beverly "Betty" Smith Thompson. He was the oldest of three children and the best big brother to his two younger sisters. 

He was raised in Centerville, Utah attending Centerville Elementary, Kaysville Junior High, and graduating from Viewmont High in 1969. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. A faithful Boy Scout earning his Eagle Scout award - his mother’s proudest moment. 

There was never a dull moment if Jay and his daredevil ideas were around. He was a hard worker starting at Lagoon, then Larry’s gas station. Spending a summer in the Uintas building roads and later becoming the best salesman ever. He was always the first to stop and help with a flat tire, car accident or just a stranger in need. He had a heart of Gold. He was never one to pass up a good poker game, and he did it all his way! 

His proudest achievement was his daughter and her family. He loved telling you about all their achievements and how amazing they are. 

He is survived by his mother; daughter, Heather(Rob) Page; six amazing grandkids: Shastan (Trista) Page, Markie (Kason) Anthon, Kambrie Page, Demmick Page, Kempton Page and Greyson Page; four greats: Baylen, Finn, Stetson and Marceline; two sisters, Robyn (Ken) Mecham and Paula (Jeff) TANABE; and a very special cousin Penny Cahoon. 

Preceded in the death by his father and great-grand son Oliver Jay Anthon. Also many aunts, uncles, cousin and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held from 9:15-10:15 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Centerville Cemetery.
