Jean Evon Jones Grow Ballard, 83, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away, surrounded by her family, in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 25, 2014.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, she attended Washington and Plymouth Elementary schools. She graduated from White Pine High School in Ely, Nevada. She married Calvin Ballard in 1953 and they were later sealed in the Saint George Temple. Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several ward and stake callings. Jean spent many happy years working at the U of U Hospital. She was also a volunteer for city and county Senior programs. Jean loved people and had a gift of being able to talk with anyone. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Jean is survived by her husband Cal, daughter Geri (Steve Titensor), sons Glen (Jen), Gordon (Lynnette), Gregg (Lesa), Gary (Melissa), 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 S. 800 W., WX. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful and on Thursday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the service.
