Jean Norine Smelcer Sipe

June 22, 1922 — February 1, 2017

Jean Norine Smelcer Sipe was born June 22, 1922 in Buffalo, New York.  She was reunited with her eternal companion LeRoy F. Sipe on February 1, 2017.

Jean was the daughter of William and Mary Smelcer and grew up in Rochester, New York. On November 10, 1945, she was united in Marriage to LeRoy Frederick Sipe.  They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington D.C. Temple in July, 1975.  Jean and Roy had three children Richard, Diane and Marilyn.

After the death of her best friend and husband in 1979, Jean moved to Centerville Utah.  She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was a temple worker and served as a family history missionary.  She was an honorary member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers – Cherry Creek Camp.

Jean was an avid reader (especially Perry Mason, and Murder She Wrote), gardener, and a great cookie maker.

Her loving and dedicated spirit was abundantly shared with her entire family.  She will be greatly missed.

Jean is survived by her son Richard Sipe (Janice), daughter Diane Neumann (Ray) and daughter Marilyn Armstrong (Tom) and 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Roy, and great grandson Benjamin.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Shepherd Creek Ward Chapel, 1533 North 1075 West, Farmington Utah.  Friends and family may visit Sunday February 5 between 6-8 PM at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington, Utah and at the church from 9:45-10:30 AM prior to services. Interment- Rochester, New York.
