Our beloved son, brother, father and grandfather, Jeffrey Blaylock Whiting, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 14, 2016 at the age of 57. Jeff was born March 3, 1959 to Max Rowley Whiting and LouJean Blaylock Whiting in Ogden, Utah.
Growing up he enjoyed boating with his family, many trips to Lake Powell, playing baseball and driving his 68 Chevy Nova. He graduated from Viewmont High School in 1977. After serving faithfully a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Oslo, Norway, he met and married Debra Nelson in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 1, 1981. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Morgan, Brittany and Cody. They were later divorced.
Jeff's greatest passion was being in the outdoors. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, camping, playing baseball and spending time with children and his grandchildren. He was always known for his kind heart. He had a way of comforting those around him who were in need or struggling. His sense of humor was contagious and he knew how to lift those around him. He was a loving friend to everyone. He found joy in his work at the Central Bishop's Storehouse as he served those around the world and made lasting and loving friendships with those he worked with. He loved and adored his seven grandchildren who were his greatest joy in life.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love for the outdoors and his desire to be like the Savior by serving others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Rowley Whiting. He is survived by his mother, LouJean Blaylock Whiting, sisters: Vickie (Greg) Merrill; Cindy (Dan) Bain; Wendy (Bart) Smith, children: John and Morgan Frampton; Adam and Brittany Wall; Cody J.
