Jennell Robinson Madrid beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend of Woods Cross returned home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a loving wife of 39 years, our sister- our hero, and a wonderful aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
Jennell was born, the oldest of eight children, on February 12, 1939, in Circleville, Utah to Merlin and Ona Madge Nay Robinson. She married Joe Victor Madrid on September 27, 1962 in Tacoma, Washington.
Jennell had a sense of humor and a free spirit. She was easy to talk with and a counselor to many family and friends. She had an unwavering positive outlook on life. She always loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and traveling to various destinations with her husband, family and friends.
Jennell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in the Relief Society and in the Bountiful Temple. She enjoyed studying scriptures and gospel doctrine.
Jennell graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Piute High School. She received her Associate Degree in Accounting from Stevens Henagar College. She was an excellent accountant. She worked for many different companies in the Salt Lake Valley. She retired from Salt Lake County Attorney's Office.
She loved each one of her siblings including her brothers and sisters-in-law. Jennell devoted her life to her family and spending time with them.
As an avid reader, you would always find her with a book nearby. Most precious of all to her, were her nieces and nephews. She loved them very much. They were the joy and light of her life. She greatly treasured the times spent with them. Jennell loved to buy books for all of her nieces and nephews. She strongly believed in the value of learning and education.
Jennell enjoyed many different hobbies such as writing poetry and stories about the many Thelma and Louise moments, crocheting, reading, studying scriptures and making people laugh.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe Victor Madrid and her parents Madge and Merlin Robinson. Survived by siblings: Maurine R. Dalton of Tooele, UT, Merlin J. Robinson of Circleville, UT, Leland Robinson (Helen) of Woodland, UT, Randy Robinson (LaJuana) of Paragonah, UT, Utahna Ackerman (Dahl) of Kearns, UT, Lila Lewis (Charles) of West Jordan, UT, and Calvin Robinson (Debbie)of Cedar City, UT.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Wedding Chapel, 10th & 11th Ward LDS building, 1335 West 1500 South, Woods Cross. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, and also 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful, Utah.
