Jeri Lee Stuart-Mitchell 65, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her home, West Bountiful, Utah on the morning of Sunday, June 11, 2023 due to complications of health. Jeri Lee was born on February 28, 1958 to Lila Rae Johnson and William Robert Kitchin in Portland, Oregon. She was later adopted by Val James Stuart and raised by her mother and Val with her other siblings in Redlands, California.
At age 18, Jeri left home to start life on her own. She worked and attended classes at the community college in Salt Lake City, eventually not only earning her own degree in cosmetology, but teaching there as well. She was a devoted teacher and mentor to many young students.
Jeri had three beautiful children, Kirsten Amber, Nicholas Jay and Karrie Nicole. Her concern and love for each of them was deep and consistent throughout her life.
She was married to Doug McDonald (divorced) and David Palmer (deceased) before meeting the love of her life, Jeffrey Wayne Mitchell. They were married on April 16, 2017. These years were the happiest of her life.
Jeri was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life, she clung to her faith in Jesus Christ and His ability to comfort and heal.
Jeri is survived by her husband Jeffrey Wayne Mitchell of West Bountiful; her children Kirsten Amber Huertas (Izzy), Nicholas Jay McDonald, and Karrie Nicole Paget (Lynn); Her siblings Robert James Stuart (Lisa), John Martin Stuart (Beth), Valerie Louise Blake (Lindsey), Matthew Glen Stuart (Erika) and Jamieson Scoffield Stuart (Meghan); as well as many cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 East Crestwood Road, Kaysville. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. Graveside services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
