Jerome Wade Kimbrell

January 25, 1934 — December 9, 2018

Jerome Wade Kimbrell, 84, born to Gilbert Wade and Emilia Joan Kimbrell on Jan. 25, 1934, returned to his Heavenly Father on December 9, 2018.

Jerome graduated from Tolleston High in Gary, Indiana. He continued on to Gary Business College on a Vocational Scholarship in 1952-53. Dad came out west to Utah in 1953 and attended BYU in 1954. He continued on to the U of U while employed at Cudahy Packing Co. for 11 yrs., American Oil Co. for 4 yrs. and First Security Bank for 25 yrs. He took an early retirement from First Security Bank in 1991. He then worked for J C Penney’s in their imports department for 11 yrs. before permanently retiring at age 75.

Though challenged throughout his life with diabetes, our dad could not be stopped. He made many wonderful memories with his family; camping, fishing, traveling, sports and his involvement coaching his sons in the Woods Cross Little League football and baseball programs and so much more. Dad was an avid sports fan all basketball and football season. He loved all collegiate sports but his greatest passion was enjoying his life with his wife and children.

He married his Grand Canyon Sweetheart, the love of his life and eternal partner, Catherine Jean Allred on October 02, 1954. Their marriage sealed in the Bountiful Temple on January 8th, 2005. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Sunday school program as a teacher of the Bountiful 2nd Ward and as 2nd counselor in the Sunday School program and home teacher of the Orchard 3rd Ward, in North Salt Lake.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Catherine Jean of 62 years, his parents, and two sons Eddie and Larry. He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Sandy) of Castlegar, Canada, Kevin (Kim) of North Salt Lake, sister Linda of Crown Point, Indiana, sister-in-law’s: Connie (Larry) Smith, of West Valley City, Kaye Brown (Don) of Henderson, Nevada, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, — Octavia, great nieces: Kate, Mae, Annie and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, December 14th, 2018, at the Orchard 3rd Ward, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45am, prior to services. Interment will follow at the Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful, Utah.
