Jerri Bonner Montandon

August 16, 1938 — August 29, 2016

Jerri passed away Monday, August 29, 2016, after a brutal battle with Alzheimer's Disease.  The world has lost an extraordinary Mother, Sister. Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother.  Jerri was 78 years old and was born in La Mesa, Texas.  She was the youngest of six children, Ivan (deceased), Lowell, Bonnie, Betty (deceased) and Loretta, all living in Texas.

She married the love of her life, James Taylor Montandon, in 1955. 

He preceded her in death in 2010.  Together they had five children, Craig (deceased), Karen Thompson (Paul), Fernley NV, Renee (Germany), Steve (Sue), Syracuse UT, and Michelle, Hayward CA.  Grandmother to 19 grandchildren Jason, Noah, Adam, Akira, Jessica, Ashley, Jordan, Ash, Anthony, Alex, Abbie, Michael, Christopher, Steadman, Kelsey, Vicci, Brad, Kristy and Morgan.  Great-Grandmother to 19 children and Great-Great-Grandmother to 7 children.

Jerri was a young mom, she gave birth to 5 children in six years.  She used to say she would wear full skirts and the babies would hang onto her skirt so they wouldn't get lost.  Jerri and Jim made their home in Modesto, Escalon, and Snow Springs, CA.  They lived in Guadalajara Mexico and then moved back to Lodi and then to Morada CA.  They then moved to Centerville, Sandy, Farmington and then settled in Syracuse UT.

Jerri and Jim were owners of the Boise Stage Stop, Boise ID, from 1981 until 1992.  They owned Brighton Appliance in Salt Lake City UT from 1993 to 2004.  They were the founders of Moon River Corn that has been at the Utah State Fair for over 37 years. 

Jerri loved to spend her summers at the Ogden Meadow's camp ground in Huntsville, UT.

She had many friends and family members that helper her make fun and lasting memories,  The campground will miss her driving around in her golf cart and being friends with everyone.

Steve and Sue her caregivers to the end would like to give special thanks to Hearts for Hospice; Jessica, her nurse, Crystal, Brittany, Megan and Katie that gave her personal loving care.  A special thanks to Camille, she came to Mom to sing her favorite songs and created some very special moments.

Our family also wants to thank Ogden Legacy House.  They took extra special care of Jerri.

She has chosen to be cremated and laid to rest with her husband Jim in the Farmington Cemetery.   The family will hold a special "Celebration of Life" to honor Jerri.  It will be held at Club 48 in Murray UT.  A date will be announced at a later time.
