Jerry Clarence Cook

Jerry Clarence Cook, 61, passed peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021 after a 7-year battle with cancer. He was encircled by his loving wife, Carol, and their family.

Jerry was born September 17, 1959, in Boise, Idaho to Dean Stock Cook and Helen Poulsen Cook. Since age three, Centerville, Utah has been his home. Here he grew up and made life-long friends and memories, established a home with Carol to raise five wonderful children, and built a thriving business.

On July 17, 1981, Jerry and Carol Ann Farr were married in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jerry loves Carol. Together, they have a family that share an amazing devotion to one another. Jerry loved playing with his children and grandchildren. He loved people. Jerry’s calm and easy manner, combined with his clever sense of humor and genuine interest in others, influenced all he knew or met. He enjoyed baseball, golf, music, spending time on a tractor, watersports, and family time at Bear Lake.

Shortly after graduating with a B.S. from the University of Utah, Jerry founded a company he grew, loved, and owned for over 34 years. As a successful business owner and employer, he was known for his vision, integrity, and skill. Jerry was loved by his many employees, customers, and professional associates. Jerry was extended the privilege to serve as Honorary Commander for the 421st Fighter Squadron “Black Widows” and also an Honorary Commander for the 419th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base where he developed cherished friendships.

Jerry is a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. He shared the restored gospel and testified of his beloved Savior. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a missionary in the Missouri-Independence mission. He also faithfully fulfilled many ward and stake responsibilities, and lovingly served as Bishop of his ward family.

Along with Carol and the family, Jerry wanted to publicly express gratitude to the many individuals who offered countless acts of kindness. Special appreciation to Dr. Greg Ellis, MD, and Bob Larsen, MPT, ATC. Thanks to the many medical professionals, including those at Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah Health, and CNS Home Health and Hospice.

Survived by his wife, Carol; children, Ryan and Melanie Ann Cook Uffens, Kevin Jerry and Mari-Beth Cook, Jason Dean and Adriana Cook, Bennett Walter and Briana Cook, and Garrett and Alexandra Claire Cook Fotu; 14 adoring grandchildren; and loving mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

A public viewing will be held Friday, February 19, from 6-8 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Rowland Way Chapel, 610 N. Rowland Way, Centerville, Utah. Due to Covid-19 protocol, masks are required. Funeral services will be held for family members Saturday, February 20, 11:00 a.m., at the Rowland Way Chapel. No viewing will be held prior to the funeral. Services will be streamed via Facebook Live at Russon Mortuary & Crematory.
