Today we said good bye to our Dad, sending him into the waiting arms of his loving wife, our Mom, who has been longing for his presence for more than a year. We can only imagine the happy reunion.
Jerry Ray Clarkson was born on December 13, 1932 to George Victor Clarkson, and Orlean Howard Clarkson, and passed away on February 18, 2014. He was the oldest of three children. He grew up in North Salt Lake, Utah and attended Davis High school, where he met his future wife Carma Ann Moss. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 4, 1951. Together they had four children, Lana (Hal) Young, Bountiful, Jay (Beckie), Farr West, Jeff (Joyce), Kaysville, and Lisa (Cary Gunther), Fruit Heights, who created many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jerry started his 40 year career at Mountain Fuel Supply Company (Questar) in August of 1952 working from digging ditches to becoming Vice President of Marketing and Sales, retiring in December of 1992. He was very proud of his years at MFS.
Jerry was an avid car enthusiast, and owned more cars and trucks than we can count. His favorite pastime was to wash, polish and work on his cars. Jerry loved his family, more than anything in life. Jerry and Carma spent their retirement years traveling the country in their many motor homes, and enjoyed the winters in their second home in St. George for many years. Jerry was known for his happy nature, and constant smile. He never walked away from someone he cared about without saying “Be careful”. Such a sweet man.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Carma. He is survived by his children, and his two sisters, Connie (Dale) Capps and Kaye (Doug) Boulton, both of Bountiful. Our Family would like to thank our friends at Pheasant View Assisted Living in Layton, and Utah Hospice Specialists. Dad loved each and every one of you, and felt your love as well.
