Jill Eileen Paton Hansen passed from this life and into the next on January 2, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born November 20, 1965 in Simi Valley, California, to Gerald and Jacqueline Paton. She married Jeffrey Alan Hansen on January 14, 1992.

Jill graduated with honors from UNLV with a degree in marketing and also attended broadcasting school. She worked on air for multiple radio stations, and found her niche as a news writer and traffic reporter. Most recently she reported for Total Traffic on air at KSL and KSOP among other stations. She also worked for Maxam, utilizing her computer skills. She was a member of Mountain West Chorale and very active in her church the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society., where she was on the Board of Directors Her daughter Janessa attends Horizon Elementary where Jill volunteered as a Room Mother.

Jill loved cruise travel and camping the Wasatch Front, then scrap booking her adventures when she returned home. She was a great cook and loved dutch oven cooking and carried on her father’s holiday fudge legacy. She loved the thrill of hunting for the ultimate bargain, especially when buying gifts for family and friends.

She will be missed by her family and many, many friends. She was a great blessing to us all.

She is preceded in death by her father and sister in law Ione. She is survived by her husband Jeff, daughter Janessa, mother Jacqueline, siblings Kathleen Reid (Nick), David Paton(Ione), Linda Paton, Carol Paton, and Cynthia Jimenez (Mario), 5 nephews, 3 nieces, and 4 great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society 6876 Highland Drive, Cottonwood Heights on January 9th, 2012. Friends may call between 10:30am and 12:00 pm, service at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com
