Jimmy P. Kelly

December 28, 1957 — August 22, 2015

Born December 28, 1957 – Passed away August 22, 2015 with a massive heart attack.  Jim was 57 years old.  He has been part of the Kelly & Son’s Welding.  He was born in Richmond, California.  His parents are Gordon and Darla Kelly.

The family moved to Centerville in 1969, where he attended school and graduated from Viewmont High in 1976.

Jim never married nor had children.  He has two brothers; Greg Kelly (Kathy), Nick Kelly, and two sisters; Becky Curry (Oran), Sherri Strong (Gavin).  Jim also had nephews and nieces.  One of his nephews he was very close with, Ryan Kelly (Megan). Two aunts, two uncles, and his cousin that he was raised with.

When Jim was about 8 his dad started teaching him to weld.  By the time he was 16 and could drive, Jim and his cousin Allen started working for their dads after school.  They would do their homework and get ready for work.  Jim would pick Allen up and they would go to Pepper Car Schredder.  At 10:00 p.m. they would go home.  When Jim graduated he then worked full time with his dad.  His welding career really started then.  Kelly & Son’s branched out into the mixer repair, sand-blasting, and decorative rubber mulch which was what they were working on when Jim passed away.

Jim’s hobby was going to Tabiona and going four wheeling, and of course his main thing was working and helping his parents.  He loved working and playing with his dad.  They were best friends, and father and son.

Jim was small in frame, but he was a giant of a man.  So we ask for a blessing on him, and now it’s time to rest.  He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31 at the Bountiful 37th Ward, 1540 North 400 East.  Friends may call from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart Foundation.
