Jo Ann Isaac Ball

December 4, 1933 — August 7, 2018

Jo Ann Ball passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018 at the age of 84.

Mom was born in Bountiful, Utah on December 4, 1933 to Joseph Wignall and Anna Marie Elizabeth Stelter Isaac.  She attended Davis High School and used to ride the Bamberger Railroad to school.  She a great childhood and would often talk about watching trains with her father, sledding down the hills of Bountiful and the many friends that she had from childhood through adulthood. 

Mom served a mission in Japan from 1957 to 1959 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Prior to serving her mission, Mom worked for Beneficial Life from 1950 to 1957 as a receptionist and secretary.  After her mission, Mom worked at the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1959 to 1961.  At the time of her marriage she was working in the Indian Placement Program for then Elder Spencer W. Kimball.

Mom was introduced to Andrew Ball by Thomas Hadley, one of her co-workers who had served with Dad in the Navy.  Dad and Mom were married on December 1, 1961 by Spencer W. Kimball and settled in Concord, North Carolina where their first two children were born.  In 1964 they returned to Utah and settled in Bountiful where they remained.

After marrying Mom spent most of her adult life as a homemaker taking care of the house and her children.  She was an excellent seamstress and was known to make and repair clothing for her family.

Mom was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many callings and positions.  She was always willing to serve others and until her failing health limited her mobility she could be found helping out where ever she was needed.

Mom is survived by her four children; Maureen Hatch (Royce), Tom (Kim), Kimball (Teri), Cheryl Tucker (Dean), thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, her parents, Joseph and Anna Isaac, her brothers Joe and Duane, her sister Edith, and one grandchild, Atticus.

Mom’s funeral will take place on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11 AM at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 55 South Main Street, Bountiful.  Friends can greet the family at the church prior to the funeral beginning at 9:30 AM.
