Joan Park Davis, age 69, passed away on June 20th, 2022, of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. She was born on January 24th, 1953, in Salt Lake City, UT to James Milton Park and Wanda Hogan Park.
Joan grew up in Woods Cross, UT, where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed playing volleyball and softball as a youth and young adult. She graduated from Viewmont High School in 1971. She attended LDS Business College earning an Executive Secretary Associates Degree.
Joan married Steven Jay Davis on August 16th, 1974, in the Salt Lake Temple. Their lives were blessed with three wonderful children: Heath, Malene, and Kari.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joan served in the Primary, Cub Scouts, Young Women’s, Relief Society, and as Chorister. She had a love for the Savior and all those she served.
Joan worked for 19 years at Shipley Associates in the print shop and later as a Logistics Coordinator. She enjoyed the opportunity to attend her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, where she would watch, cheer, and sometimes be the official score keeper.
In her retired years, she was able to look after her grandchildren. She also cared for her husband, the love of her life, when he became terminally ill.
Joan is survived by her children Heath (Angie), Malene, Kari (Tim) and her grandchildren Colby, Madison, Morgan, Parker, Tori, Kalia, Sawyer, and Austin. She is also survived by her brothers Jim and Kevin, mother-in-law Delma, and many nieces and nephews.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband Steven, Parents and Brother Alan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27th, 2022, at the Woods Cross 9th Ward Chapel, 790 West 1500 South, Woods Cross, UT 84087. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main St., Bountiful, UT 84010 and Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
Services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
