JoAnn McNeal

July 28, 1949 — November 11, 2013

JoAnn Gines McNeal, age 64, peacefully ended her long and courageous battle with cancer on November 11th, 2013 at her home in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on July 28, 1949 in Bountiful, Utah to Ray and Elaine Gines. She graduated from Weber State University and embarked on a rewarding life-long career as a school teacher who touched the lives of those around her. A loving mother of three precious boys, tough as nails, she worked hard and sacrificed to provide a good life for her family. She treasured time spent with family and close friends. Her passions included family vacations to the Oregon coast, searching for seashells, and above all fishing. She loved many things including her friends, playing games, her pets, especially her dog Hunter, and spending time with her grandchildren.

JoAnn is survived by Ray and Elaine Gines, who were always there for her, especially in her battle with cancer. She is also survived by her 3 children, who meant the world to her: Allen and wife Kirsten, Andrew and wife Shanda, and Jason and wife Christine; eight beautiful grandchildren that she cherished dearly; and siblings Burt, Keith, and Paul Gines. She was preceded in death by her brother Lee Gines.

Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those she has left behind. We love you Mother and you will be missed greatly.

The family will receive friends and guests from 6 – 8 PM on Friday November 15th, at Russon Brothers-Bountiful, 295 N. Main St. Bountiful, Utah. An additional viewing will take place on Saturday November 16th from 10 – 11 AM followed by Funeral services held at the Moss HIll Ward LDS Meeting House, 455 S 1200 East, Bountiful, UT.
