Joann Ovitt

On June 28^th, 1946 Joe and Mamie Milton were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. That, folks, is my sweet little Momma. September 6^th at 12:01am, Heavenly Father called her home to be with her eternal sweetheart, my Daddy. I know for a fact there was a joyous noise in Heaven as my Momma came home to be with my Daddy and all of her family and friends who have completed their earthly trial. My Momma in her 75 years didn’t have the best of everything and actually had a very hard life. She is THE best Momma these two rough old boys of hers could ever ask for. She raised us right after Daddy was called home. She was always kind and loving. Firm and strict when she had to be, but always caring.

Never did my brother and I ever doubt her love for us and not a person she came in contact with could ever doubt her kind and loving spirit. I won’t go on and on about her because she would be embarrassed by all the compliments but she was unequivocally the BEST. Momma and led a very full life. She had gone for years undiagnosed as a diabetic and that took its toll on her little body. She lost her sight many years ago but could still “see”. As she has gone home to Heaven she has left myself and my brother Jeremiah Carlton Ovitt, two amazing daughters-in-law, Jodi Ovitt and Kimberly McKeever, six beautiful grandchildren, Emilyn Ovitt, Hailey Ovitt, Chloe Ovitt, Kash Ovitt, Lilly Ovitt, and Laila Ovitt. She was and is loved more than she’ll ever realize. She will be missed dearly.
