Joanne DeYoung

September 17, 1931 — December 25, 2014

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away Thursday, December 25th. Joanne was born September 17, 1931 to William James and Ellen Geneve Clark. She attended South High School.
She married Joe DeYoung on May 12, 1957 with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Joe passed away on December 7th, 2007. They spent their married life in Bountiful and Centerville. They loved family vacations and especially loved their trips to Mexico.
She retired from ZCMI in 1999. She was a great cook, and was always trying out a new recipe. She sewed, crocheted, read and believed that everyone should have a “hobby”. She loved her family and especially enjoyed her great-grandchildren. She was a member of the LDS church and was sealed to her husband in the Ogden Temple in 2008. During her final years, she faced a tough battle with neuropathy, which made it difficult to walk and to do the things she enjoyed.
She is survived by her children; daughters, Katy Bianchi, Layton,Alison (Tony) Leiker, Layton, and son Cory (Syd) DeYoung, Farmington, grandchildren, Kara, Candace, Alex (Corinne), Ashley, (Jared), Kelly (Brian), Casey (Cassie), Ashley, and Hayley (Josh). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Ava, Ryker, Kale, Drake, Max, Reese, Lauren, Presley and Harper. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her sisters, and her brother.
We would like to thank Dr. Sam Wilson, the wonderful staff at Envision and Heritage Place for their loving care of our mother and grandmother.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday January 3rd at 11:00 am at the Bountiful Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Christmas Box House.
