Jodi Wilson Smith

Jodi Wilson Smith, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend returned to the open arms of her loving eternal companion, Casey Smith on May 10, 2021. She was born June 9, 1975 to Sam and Mindy Wilson, in Bountiful, Utah. She attended Bountiful Elementary, Mueller Park Jr. High and Bountiful High School.
Jodi served in the Dublin, Ireland Mission where she excelled as a missionary and loved serving the people there. While on her mission Jodi forged many life-long friendships which she cherished. After serving in Ireland, Jodi returned home and graduated from Brigham Young University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in finance.
Jodi met the love of her life, Casey Smith, and they were married on March 9, 2001 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together Jodi and Casey had six beautiful children whom they loved and adored. She taught her children to be honest, respectful, kind and above all to love others.
Jodi’s favorite thing to do was to serve other people. She also loved an adventure, a long hike, traveling, or a good book. Jodi followed in her grandmother’s footsteps and was an excellent cook. She was an avid sports fan; you could catch her watching the Jazz, the Utes, but most importantly she loved watching her kids do what they love.
Jodi had a deep testimony of the gospel and of our savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and never hesitated to serve in various callings throughout her life. Jodi had the ability to always love and lift those around her. She truly lived a Christ-like life.
Jodi was incredibly thankful for the many doctors, nurses, family, friends and community members that provided service to her and family during her cancer journey. Not only the people here in Utah, but her beloved friends in Novato, California.
Jodi is survived by six children: Hallie, Olivia, Luke, Lincoln, Emma and Bo. Her parents Sam and Mindy Wilson. Siblings Wendi (Clark) Stringfellow, Jeff (Kelli) Wilson, Brett (Vanessa) Wilson, Matt (Stefanie) Wilson, Annie (Nick) Morrell. Her in-laws Ron and Pat Smith and their children Brooks(Melissa) Smith, Gabe (Adriana) Smith and Bronson (Linsey) Smith. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Casey RA Smith, grandparents, Don and Donna Perkins, and brother Samuel Scott Wilson.
A viewing will be held Thursday May 13, 2021 from 6-8 pm. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful Utah and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Woodland Hill Ward 640 South 750 East Bountiful, Utah. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
