Biography

Dad was born in Salt Lake City, Sept. 26, 1924, to William and Grace Bunting Allgier. Dad died Nov. 25, 2013 due to heart failure and old age.
At the age of 14 he lost his mother, and left home. At 16 he joined the Navy, and served 4 years in the South Pacific during WW II. While on shore leave, he met, and married Ruby Silvia Koenig. Only a few days after being discharged from the Navy, he got a job at Utah Oil Co. He worked there 38 years and retired in 1983 from what was then Amoco Oil Co. He and mother enjoyed over 30 years of retirement. He stayed active until the last 2 years of his life, when his health started to decline. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and watching documentaries about animals and history. He had a great sense of humor, and a positive attitude throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Susan Grace Allgier, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife Ruby, daughter Nancy Bishop, sons, Timothy (Susan) and Shaun (Michelle), 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Our family wishes to thank the staffs of LDS Hospital, Inspiration Hospice, and Heritage Place for their caring and support.
